Our Story

The Founding Story
of ECOS

December 2014

Beat Jenni traveled to Colombia and spent three months in Cartagena learning Spanish — a journey that would change everything.

2015 — Skype Classes

After returning to Switzerland, Beat continued learning with Leydis Soto via Skype. A partnership — and a friendship — was born across continents.

February 2016

Beat returned to Cartagena for three intensive weeks. The idea of building something real together began to take shape.

June 2016 — ECOS Opens

In just one month, Beat and Leydis rented and adapted their first building. ECOS Escuela opened its doors in Cartagena de Indias — the beginning of something extraordinary.

It was a challenging time for us, our team and our students. But we remember it with pride, because: it was worth it!
